Ms. Bird Nerd
Hello! I’m a newish birder, braving the challenges posed to those who came to birding later in life. As an LGBTQ+ woman and a registered member of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Indians, making birding accessible to marginalized communities is a cause that’s near and dear to my heart. I also enjoy birding urban areas that have “flown” under the hotspot radar.
Follow my blog and social media to learn how we can become better birders–and make the birding world a better place!

“I can’t imagine anything better that might happen in a person’s life than for them to start paying attention to birds—to become aware of this magical world that exists all around us, unnoticed by many but totally captivating for those who know its secrets.“
